Sr. Lead Carpenter

Job description

This is a working Lead Carpenter position with steady inside work. Requires 20+ years of documented experience in general construction, with an emphasis on rough and finish carpentry, along with a clean driving record and valid driver’s license. Our shop is located in Chesterfield, and we have been General Contractors for 70 years with 10 offices across the U.S.

If you have a consistent work history with steady advancement, strong general construction knowledge, and the ability to travel overnight in the region when needed, we would love to schedule an interview. This role requires the ability to work independently on occupied construction sites. Reliability and dependability are essential.

In addition to regular pay, employees receive an extra $3 per hour for hours worked while traveling, and there are also opportunities to work on prevailing wage projects as they become available. Compensation commensurate with experience and knowledge.

Skills required as follows:

• Commercial remodel experience required. OSHA 10 will be required.
• Basic framing, barricades, scaffolding, carpentry knowledge, experience and hand tools required. Must be reliable and demonstrate can be a field crew leader.
• Painting, patching--with some finish work--Level 3-4 minimum
• Drywall framing, metal studs
• Install without blueprints--have fire-rating knowledge--can order materials--schedule crew--work with Superintendents to keep jobs on track--work with our subcontractors
• Metal Door and hardware, window demolition and installation
• Basic knowledge of structural steel and basic welding techniques
• Must be able to pass both a drug screening and E-Verify for I-9 ID documents
• Must have clean driving record, carry insurance, have reliable transportation and valid US driver's license with no recent tickets, minimum college degree or some college.
• Able to travel overnight up to 50-60% plus of the time (Company will cover all of overnight travel expenses including hotel and meal expense with temporary wage bump on site)
• Good communication and trustworthy is critical.
• Some local access to Company trucks--but own reliable vehicle is required
• Must be able to work on ladders, carry up to 50 lbs, walk long distances, climb flights of stairs, kneel or stand for long periods of time, and work off of scaffolding.

Pay: $33.00 - $35.00 per hour
