Staff Accountant

We’re seeking a detail-driven and proactive Staff Accountant to join our dynamic corporate accounting team. This role serves as a key contributor to the financial operations of CMG’s corporate entities. The Staff Accountant will take ownership of general ledger management, balance sheet reconciliations, treasury functions, accounts payable processing, and month-end close activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day transactional accounting for corporate entities, including cash activity, payroll and benefits entries, accounts payable, credit card transactions, fixed assets, and other GL functions.
  • Prepare accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support the monthly close process, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Record all bank activity in accounting system.
  • Manage all accounts payable data entry and maintain efficient invoice workflows.
  • Assist with intercompany accounting, including preparation and settlement of transactions.
  • Participate in the annual financial audit and provide supporting documentation.
  • Support corporate compliance requirements (e.g., 1099 reporting, personal property tax filings).
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications – Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience under minimum requirements
  • Percentage of completion accounting under preferred qualifications
  • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and full-cycle accounting.
  • Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, IF/IFS statements).
  • Ability to excel in a high-growth, fast-moving environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proactive self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Viewpoint Spectrum ERP.
