We are seeking a highly organized, meticulous, and experienced Project Storekeeper to manage and control all inventory and materials efficiently for our upcoming project. This is a 6-month contract position, with the strong possibility of extension based on project requirements and your performance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working in the GCC region and possess a valid, transferable work permit with a No Objection Certificate (NOC).
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Receive, inspect, verify, and store all incoming materials, goods, and equipment according to company procedures and project specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of all inventory movements (receipts, issues, transfers, returns).
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile with system records (stock-taking, cycle counts).
- Identify and report any discrepancies, damages, or shortages immediately.
- Ensure proper storage conditions are maintained for all materials, including temperature, security, and accessibility.
- Material Issuance:
- Issue materials and tools to authorized personnel based on approved requisitions.
- Accurately record all outgoing items and ensure proper documentation is completed.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation, including Goods Received Notes (GRN), Material Transfer Requests (MTR), Bin Cards, and inventory ledgers.
- Prepare regular reports on stock levels, consumption rates, and material availability.
- Assist in generating purchase requisitions for replenishment as needed.
- Store Operations:
- Ensure the store area is clean, organized, and safe at all times, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Implement and maintain efficient storage layouts for optimal space utilization.
- Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and project teams to ensure timely availability of materials and smooth operations.
- Identify and manage obsolete or slow-moving inventory.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-4 years of proven experience as a Storekeeper, specifically within the GCC region. Experience in a project-based environment (e.g., construction, oil & gas, manufacturing) is highly desirable.
- Work Permit & NOC: MUST possess a valid and transferable GCC work permit/residency with a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your current sponsor. Applications without valid NOC will not be considered.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. A Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in inventory management software/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Basic knowledge of material handling equipment (e.g., forklift operation, if certified, is a plus).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit and able to lift and move materials as required.
- Knowledge of safety procedures in a warehouse/store environment.
