Structural Quantity Surveyor
We are seeking a qualified Structural Quantity Surveyor to join our team, responsible for managing all structural-related costs from initial budgeting through to the final account, ensuring cost-effective, compliant, and efficient project delivery.
Key responsibilities include preparing detailed structural Bills of Quantities (BoQ), managing subcontractor tenders for steel and concrete works, valuing structural works on site, and monitoring cost impacts of design changes. The role also involves reviewing drawings, preparing quantity estimates, optimizing existing budgets, negotiating with contractors and suppliers, and maintaining strong working relationships with clients and site managers.
Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities:
· Cost Planning & Estimating: Preparing cost estimates for structural elements to ensure project affordability.
· Structural Quantities & Take-offs: Reviewing structural drawings, specs, and models (BIM) to accurately estimate concrete volume, structural steel tonnage, reinforcement steel (rebar), and formwork.
· Tender Documentation: Creating detailed tender packages, scope of works, and BoQs for structural subcontracts (e.g., steel fabrication, concrete contractors).
· Valuation & Payment: Measuring structural work completed on-site, valuing variations (VOs), and processing interim payments for subcontractors.
· Cost Control & Change Management: Monitoring budget vs. actual costs for structural elements, identifying and evaluating the cost impact of design changes.
· Liaison: Working closely with structural engineers, project managers, and contractors to ensure optimal design and cost efficiency.
· Reports Preparation: Analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessment, and other documents.
· Materials Record Tracking: Monitoring material consumption on site and coordinating additional orders when required
· Documentation: Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.
Quantity Surveyor Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, engineering, management, or similar.
· Construction estimating or finance experienced is advantageous.
· Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
· Sound knowledge of construction.
· Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to organize, plan, and strategize.
· Great networking abilities.
· Locally available - DOHA
· A valid driver's license.
· Can join immediately
· Valid QID
