Job: Summer Day Camp Counselor
Hours: M-F | 7AM-6PM (in 5-6 hour shifts)

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Provides direct supervision of a group of children in a seasonal day camp. Creates positive, nurturing relationships with children, while building cooperative relationships with parents/caregivers. Promotes and supports the potential of all youth in programs and facilitates peer-to-peer connections as part of the overall camp experience.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a camp or educational setting strongly preffered
• Strong childcare skills and a passion for youth development
• Certification in First Aid and CPR or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
• Background in special education or tutoring is a plus
• Ability to engage children through sports and creative activities
• Knowledge of behavior management and childhood development principles is a plus

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $8.00 per hour
