Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic Summer Camp Activity Teacher to supervise children and guide them through daily camp activities. All lesson plans and materials are prepared in advance—this role focuses on leading activities, assisting campers, and maintaining a safe, positive environment. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, can follow structured activity plans, and helps create a fun and engaging camp experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise campers and ensure a safe and supportive environment at all times.
  • Follow the provided daily activity plans and guide campers through each activity.
  • Help children understand instructions and assist them with completing projects or games.
  • Encourage participation, teamwork, and positive behavior among campers.
  • Provide basic classroom and activity management during camp sessions.
  • Monitor campers during transitions, breaks, and group activities.
  • Maintain organization of activity materials and clean up after each session.
  • Communicate with camp leadership about any issues, concerns, or camper needs.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with children in educational settings, daycare, camp programs, tutoring, or childcare roles
  • Ability to follow structured activity plans and instructions.
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
  • Strong classroom management skills to maintain an organized and positive learning environment
  • Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with children, parents, and team members
  • Passion for working with kids and fostering their growth through fun and educational experiences
  • Ability to work flexible hours during the summer season in an active outdoor or indoor setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in education, childcare, recreation, or youth programs.

Work Environment

  • Indoor and outdoor camp settings.
  • Active role that may involve standing, walking, and assisting children during activities.
