System Support Engineer

Karachi, Pakistan

Responsibilities:

1. Desktop Support:

- Provide support for LAN issues and ensure network connectivity.

- Assist users with application support, resolving software and hardware issues.

- Maintain an inventory of desktop equipment and manage updates and patches.

2. Server Monitoring:

- Monitor virtual machines, application servers, and file servers.

- Track CPU, storage, and memory utilization to ensure optimal performance.

- Perform routine health checks and report any anomalies.

3. Network Monitoring:

- Utilize Network Monitoring Systems (NMS) to oversee routers, switches, and proxy servers.

- Monitor bandwidth usage and identify top talkers.

- Ensure WiFi networks are functioning correctly and troubleshoot any connectivity issues.

4. Incident Management:

- Respond to and resolve system and network incidents promptly.

- Document incidents and resolutions in the ticketing system.

- Escalate complex issues to senior engineers when necessary.

5. Maintenance and Upgrades:

- Assist in the planning and execution of system and network upgrades.

- Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure system reliability.

- Apply security patches and updates to systems and applications.

6. User Training and Support:

- Provide end-user training on system and network usage.

- Create and maintain user guides and documentation.

7. ISMS Documentation Records Keeping:

Maintain and update Information Security Management System (ISMS) documentation.

Ensure all records are accurately kept and comply with organizational policies.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- 1-2 years of experience in system and network support.

- Knowledge of server and network monitoring tools.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
