Transport Fleet Maintenance Manager

responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a company’s vehicle fleet. This role ensures that vehicles are roadworthy, safe, and operating efficiently while managing workshop staff, inventory, and budget.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate workshop activities including maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics.
• Plan and schedule routine preventive maintenance for all vehicles and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety, legal, and environmental regulations.
• Maintain accurate service records and vehicle maintenance history.
• Manage workshop inventory, spare parts procurement, and tools.
• Lead a team of mechanics, technicians, and support staff—assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
• Conduct inspections and authorize vehicle releases after repairs.
• Handle breakdowns and emergency repairs efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Ensure adherence to maintenance budgets and cost-effective operations.
• Liaise with transport operations teams to ensure availability and reliability of fleet.
• Train and develop workshop staff on new technologies, safety protocols, and best practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in transport workshop management or heavy vehicle maintenance.
• Strong technical knowledge of diesel and petrol engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in workshop management software and fleet tracking systems.
• Excellent leadership, planning, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly.
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory requirements for commercial vehicles.

Preferred:

• Experience with fleet sizes above 20 vehicles.
• Certifications in vehicle diagnostics or maintenance management.
• Familiarity with ISO standards or preventive maintenance systems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs60,000.00 - Rs100,000.00 per month
