American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of experience for a night shift position at an acute care hospital, with potential floating across multiple campuses.

Acute care hospital setting with 304 staffed beds
-
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Every other weekend required

Floating within scope required to meet facility needs, including potential float between Downtown, Northeast, Fairfield, and Kershaw campuses

Charting via Epic EMR
-
13-week contract
-
Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience

Active RRT credential required
-
SC RRT license required; license must be in hand at time of start (license required if applicable)

Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Radiation badge required — must be provided by the candidate's agency prior to start

SSN and Driver's License required for consideration

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

First-time travelers are accepted for this position

Former permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC facility must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler

Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are considered on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized

All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission; approval is based on facility needs

Online orientation modules are completed prior to the start of the assignment

Caribbean Blue scrubs required

Parking is available at no cost; parking pass distributed at badge pickup — note that garage clearance is limited to average-sized SUVs and trucks

Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June through November), all staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
