Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of experience for a night shift position at an acute care hospital, with potential floating across multiple campuses.

Details

  • Acute care hospital setting with 304 staffed beds
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating within scope required to meet facility needs, including potential float between Downtown, Northeast, Fairfield, and Kershaw campuses
  • Charting via Epic EMR
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
  • Active RRT credential required
  • SC RRT license required; license must be in hand at time of start (license required if applicable)
  • Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Radiation badge required — must be provided by the candidate's agency prior to start
  • SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
  • 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Former permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC facility must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
  • Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are considered on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission; approval is based on facility needs
  • Online orientation modules are completed prior to the start of the assignment
  • Caribbean Blue scrubs required
  • Parking is available at no cost; parking pass distributed at badge pickup — note that garage clearance is limited to average-sized SUVs and trucks
  • Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June through November), all staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
