American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of pediatric/neonatal experience for a night shift travel assignment in a pediatric respiratory therapy unit at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Springfield, MO.

Pediatric respiratory therapy unit at a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center and Level 2 Stroke Center hospital

Patient population includes pediatric, PICU, and NICU patients across an estimated 62-bed combined unit
-
Equipment used includes Draeger VN500, Hamilton G-5, Oscillator, and Jet Vent

EMR: Epic
-
Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:30–07:00)

Float requirements: floating within peds/neonatal areas as required by the facility
-
No weekend hours required
-
No on-call requirements
-
13-week assignment
-
Graduate of an accredited college program in Respiratory Care
-
Minimum 2 years of pediatric and/or neonatal experience required
-
Prior neonatal and pediatric intensive care experience required
-
Current RRT credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
-
Current certifications required: BLS (AHA only), NRP, and PALS
-
Current state license required (license required if applicable)
-
Valid U.S. Social Security Number required

No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months
-
Responsibilities include initiating and managing mechanical ventilation, performing respiratory care interventions, assisting physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and documenting patient care accurately in Epic
-
Participates in physician rounds, communicates patient goals and status changes to the interdisciplinary care team, and contributes to care plan updates
-
Responsible for equipment maintenance including changing, processing, and stocking supplies, as well as O2 tank replacement
-
Expected to function as a resource or preceptor and participate in departmental meetings, huddles, and in-services
-
Black scrubs required; no other scrub colors are accepted
-
Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption is required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
-
Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) is allowed but must be made up during the assignment
-
Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but are subject to a reduced bill rate
-
Local candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before requiring a 1-year separation or transfer to a facility outside the 50-mile radius

Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment unless documentation of a scheduled renewal is provided
