What is Unit Lead Finance Transformation – MMBL?


This role is at the heart of the Bank’s transformation journey. The VP – Finance Transformation will lead the design and execution of enterprise-wide financial process transformation, covering ERP optimization (Oracle), system integrations (CPS, T24), reconciliation databases (Recons, Settlements, DRU, ALM), automation (RPA), and strategic reporting & forecasting.


The role is highly complex and output-driven, requiring a leader who can deliver strong business outcomes by balancing technology, process, and people. It requires both strategic leadership and technical oversight, including managing teams of developers and ensuring delivery of robust solutions. Success will be measured through efficiency gains, process reliability, faster closures, accurate forecasting, and improved controls across all finance functions.


What Unit Lead Finance Transformation – MMBL Does?


ERP & Integrations


  • Lead Oracle ERP modules (GL, AP, AR, FA, Procurement, iSupplier/iSourcing) optimization and upgrades.
  • Oversee multi-node ERP and PCA upgrades, ensuring readiness for Fusion migration.
  • Drive seamless integrations with CPS and T24 for real-time data availability and consistency.
  • Resolve ERP-related issues and manage continuous change requests and incident resolutions.


Reconciliations & Database Optimization


  • Oversee reconciliations, settlements, DRU & ALM databases with focus on accuracy, scalability, and audit readiness.
  • Optimize reconciliation processes across GL, payments, branchless banking, regulatory files, and third-party vendors.
  • Design and automate new reconciliation processes and reporting frameworks to support closure timelines.
  • Ensure timely resolution of reconciliation issues, exception ageing, and break investigations.


Automation & RPA Development


  • Drive end-to-end automation strategy across the Bank using RPA and related tools.
  • Manage RPA developers, ensuring quality development, deployment, and maintenance of workflows.
  • Oversee development practices (scripting, debugging, optimization) in UiPath, Autosphere, SQL, Python, and ETL pipelines.
  • Manage RPA operations: orchestrator monitoring, exception handling, and bot performance.
  • Expand automation to procurement, tax, reporting, and compliance processes.
  • Transition from RPA-only to hybrid automation (ETL, ML, data-driven models) for scalability.


Process Improvement & Finance Transformation


  • Re-engineer finance processes (procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, record-to-report) for efficiency and risk reduction.
  • Establish standardized workflows, approval hierarchies, and automated controls.
  • Apply best practices (Lean Six Sigma, Agile delivery) to reduce manual effort and improve cycle times.
  • Deliver measurable business outcomes: reduced costs, faster reporting, fewer errors.


Reporting, Planning & Forecasting


  • Build real-time dashboards (Power BI, APEX) for ERP, reconciliations, and finance KPIs.
  • Enhance financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting with automated, accurate data.
  • Deliver audit-ready and regulatory-compliant financial and tax reports.
  • Support CFO and leadership with forecasting, scenario planning, and data-driven insights.


Governance & Compliance


  • Ensure compliance with SBP regulations, SOX/ICFR, and internal audit frameworks.
  • Maintain data integrity, security, and control across ERP, reconciliation DBs, and automation platforms.
  • Enforce governance for change management and incident management across finance systems.


Leadership & Delivery


  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams across ERP, RPA, reconciliations, development, and finance transformation.
  • Provide technical guidance to developers, ensuring coding quality, standards adherence, and timely delivery.
  • Manage vendors for ERP, automation, and database operations, ensuring delivery within scope, time, and budget.
  • Instill a performance culture with output-based metrics, accountability, and aggressive timelines.
  • Act as a strategic partner to CFO and ExCo, enabling finance to become a value-creating function.


What are we looking for and what does it require to be Unit Lead Finance Transformation - MMBL?


Qualifications & Skills


  • Master’s in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Finance Transformation, ERP, and Automation leadership roles (Banking/Financial Services preferred).
  • Strong expertise in Oracle ERP (R12/Fusion), CPS/T24 integrations, and reconciliation databases (DRU, ALM).
  • Proven track record of driving enterprise-wide automation (RPA/UiPath) with measurable business outcomes.
  • Solid understanding of finance processes, controls, and regulatory frameworks (SBP, SOX, ICFR).
  • Advanced technical knowledge in SQL, Python, RPA scripting, and ETL pipelines, with ability to guide development teams.
  • Proficiency in data analytics & reporting tools (Power BI, APEX).
  • Preferred certifications: PMP/Agile, Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt), ACCA/CA/CIMA.
