Veterinary Assistant/Dairy Farm Supervisor JDs

The Veterinary Assistant/Dairy Farm Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a small dairy farm with a herd of some buffalo and cows and their calves, ensuring optimal animal health and welfare, managing milk sales and revenue collection, and handling basic accounting records. The ideal candidate is a motivated all-rounder with strong animal handling skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

· Animal Health:

o Conduct regular health checks on all livestock (cows, buffalo, and calves) to detect signs of illness or injury.

o Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by a certified veterinarian and maintain accurate health records.

o Assist with breeding programs, calving/birthing processes, and overall reproductive health management.

o Ensure proper feeding schedules and nutrition plans are followed, coordinating with a nutritionist if needed.

o Maintain high standards of hygiene and sanitation in barns, milking areas, and pens.

· Sales, Revenue Management and other duties:

o Oversee milk harvesting, ensuring quality control and safe handling of milk for sale.

o Manage the sale and collection of milk and other farm products ensuring timely delivery to customers.

o Communicate effectively with customers to manage orders and address any concerns.

o Maintain accurate daily records of milk production, feed consumption, animal health treatments, income, and expenses.

o Assist with basic bookkeeping, including recording each item of income and expenditure.

o Monitor inventory of feed, medical supplies, and equipment, and assist with ordering new stock.

o Perform and oversee general farm maintenance, including the upkeep of facilities, fences, and equipment.

o Adhere to and enforce all health, safety, and animal welfare regulations.

Qualifications & Skills

· Minimum 2 years experience working on a livestock or dairy farm, with a strong emphasis on animal care.

· Knowledge of animal husbandry, nutrition, and common bovine diseases.

· Strong organizational and time management skills, with keen attention to detail.

· Basic computer proficiency for record-keeping and communication.

· Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding manual labor in various weather conditions.

· Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs50,000.00 - Rs80,000.00 per month
