Window Treatment Installer / Field Service Technician

Join Our Growing Team

We are a close-knit window treatment company with a team of five people. As a growing small business, we continue to improve our processes, expand our knowledge, and adapt as new opportunities arise.

Every team member plays an important role in our success. We value teamwork, trust, clear communication, quality workmanship, and people who take genuine pride in what they do.

We are looking for a dependable and mechanically inclined installer who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, helping customers, and learning new skills.

About the Position

This position involves installing, adjusting, troubleshooting, and repairing custom window treatments in customers’ homes and businesses.

Every installation can present a different challenge. The right candidate will be able to carefully assess the situation, measure accurately, use tools confidently, and think through practical solutions in the field.

You will also be representing our company inside customers’ homes. Professionalism, communication, cleanliness, patience, and respect are essential.

Previous window treatment experience is valuable, but we are also open to candidates with strong experience in handyman work, construction, maintenance, installation, carpentry, cabinetry, or other mechanically focused roles.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot product and installation issues.
  • Complete basic window treatment repairs and adjustments.
  • Accurately measure windows and installation areas.
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and measuring equipment.
  • Review work orders and product information before appointments.
  • Clearly explain the work being completed and any necessary next steps to customers.
  • Communicate job updates, measurements, photos, delays, and concerns through Slack.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Protect customers’ homes, belongings, and property.
  • Load, unload, organize, and care for products and tools.
  • Notify the team promptly when a follow-up visit, replacement part, or additional solution is needed.
  • Work efficiently while maintaining safety and quality standards.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate is:

  • Trustworthy, honest, and dependable.
  • Punctual and prepared.
  • Mechanically inclined and comfortable using tools.
  • Highly accurate when measuring.
  • A strong problem solver who can think calmly in the field.
  • A quick learner with a genuine willingness to improve.
  • Friendly, respectful, and professional with customers.
  • An excellent verbal and written communicator.
  • Comfortable using Slack as the company’s primary communication platform.
  • Able to clearly explain what they are doing and what happens next.
  • Calm under pressure and able to adapt when plans change.
  • Non-confrontational and focused on finding solutions.
  • Open to training, feedback, and new processes.
  • Capable of working independently while staying connected with the team.
  • Someone who takes pride in completing work correctly and professionally.

Requirements

  • Smartphone with reliable service.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
  • Ability to lift and carry window treatments, tools, and equipment.
  • Comfortable climbing ladders and working above shoulder height.
  • Comfortable working inside occupied homes and businesses.
  • Reliable attendance and transportation.
  • Professional and clean appearance.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Pay and Benefits

  • Starting pay of $20–$23 per hour, based on relevant experience and demonstrated ability.
  • Paid holidays.
  • Company gas card for approved work-related travel.
  • Customer-review bonus opportunities for excellent service and positive customer feedback.
  • Monday–Friday daytime schedule.
  • Summer hours of 7:00 AM–3:00 PM.
  • Hands-on training and continued skill development.
  • Support from a small, collaborative team.

Opportunity to Grow

We believe growth comes from consistency, initiative, communication, and a willingness to learn.

As the employee develops strong installation skills, product knowledge, customer service abilities, and dependable work habits, there may be opportunities to take on additional responsibilities.

An employee who demonstrates an interest in learning more about the business may also have the opportunity to develop skills in window treatment consultations and sales.

Advancement is based on performance, business needs, reliability, and the value the employee brings to the team.

Our Team Culture

Teamwork is one of the most important parts of our business.

Because we are a small company, we rely on one another to communicate, follow through, solve problems, and support the customer experience from beginning to end.

We value team members who:
