Associate Attorney with Partnership track

Family Law, Arthur J. Travieso, A Professional Law Corporation is a prestigious Law firm located in Costa Mesa, California. Practicing in a multidisciplinary fashion in the fields of Civil Litigation, Real Estate Law, Family Law and Criminal Defense and other litigation and non-litigation matters.

We are currently seeking to add a full time associate attorney, 0-6 years of experience in civil litigation, criminal law and/or family law preferred. The attorney will primarily be reporting and working directly with the managing partner who primarily works in Civil Litigation, Family and Criminal Law. Bilinguality is a positive. A partnership track is available for highly motivated associates who want ultimately to achieve real equity ownership, rather than phantom titles without ownership that other firms dangle.

The ideal candidate should ideally have experience drafting discovery, pleadings, dispositive motions, and trial preparation. Admission to and familiarity with US District Court litigation is helpful. Excellent writing and research skills are required. Training and supervision are provided with room for growth for competitive candidates. This is a great mentoring opportunity. Immediate Courtroom experience offered and direct contact with clients. You will be doing real lawyer work from Day One.

Duties will include conducting legal research, preparing and responding to motions and pleadings, attending hearings or court appearances, reviewing and summarizing various records, meeting with clients, propounding/responding to written discovery, and taking and defending depositions.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Active member of the State Bar of California (Will consider an applicant who is pending bar results)
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Lexis/Nexis, and familiarity with Smokeball or Clio is a positive.
• Excellent writing and proofreading skills.
• The ability to communicate effectively and handle multiple priorities in a timely and professional manner.

Salary range is $100,000 - $200,000 based upon experience
