- Responsible for the design, procurement, and management of non-core mechanical equipment in large-scale power or industrial projects (such as water treatment systems, compressed air, HVAC, cranes, and pumps). This role functions as the technical lead for specific equipment packages, overseeing the process from conceptual design to installation and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Technical Documentation: Prepare technical specifications, data sheets, and, and P&IDs (piping and instrumentation diagrams) for mechanical packages.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate vendor offers, conduct technical bid evaluations (TBE), and approve vendor drawings and documents.
- Project Execution & Procurement: Coordinate with procurement teams for timely purchase orders, monitor fabrication progress, and perform inspections or Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
- Interdisciplinary Coordination: Collaborate with piping, civil, and electrical teams to manage 3D model reviews, clash checks, and ensure proper equipment installation.
- Site Support: Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and startup at the construction site.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all equipment complies with industry standards (e.g., ASME, API, TEMA, PED) and safety regulations.
