Category Head – Food Distribution

We’re looking for a strategic and commercially focused Category Head to lead product category performance across our food distribution business. You’ll drive sales, profitability, and market share by developing data-driven strategies, optimizing assortments, and managing supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead category strategy across multiple food segments to maximize growth and margin.
• Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitor data to shape plans.
• Identify new product and pricing opportunities to grow category performance.
• Manage supplier relationships and negotiate favorable terms.
• Collaborate with supply chain, marketing, sales, and finance for end-to-end execution.
• Oversee assortment planning, inventory health, and replenishment accuracy.
• Lead and mentor category managers and support staff.
• Monitor KPIs and adjust strategies to meet business goals.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years in category management or buying within food/FMCG.
• Strong leadership and negotiation skills.
• Proven track record in driving category growth and profitability.
• Analytical mindset with data-led decision making.
• Experience across retail or wholesale channels is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred).
