Al-Ghazi Tractors Limited , the subsidiary company of Al-Futtaim group of Dubai, is a story of rollicking success. With consistent corporate achievements, the company is recognized for corporate excellence and “Best Corporate Performance”.


With its Corporate office in Lahore, the AGTL plant at Dera Ghazi Khan, manufactures New Holland (Fiat) tractors in technical collaboration with CNHI - Case New Holland, the Number One manufacturer of agricultural tractors in the world. The AGTL plant, an icon of engineering dynamics operates on high efficiency. With Quality Control and Quality Assurance, quality improvement systems exist at every level. What you will do?


Purposed:

The Category Manager – Purchasing (Casting) is responsible for optimizing the supply chain by developing and executing strategic sourcing plans, ensuring cost-effective procurement, and securing high-quality casting materials. This role encompasses supplier qualification, contract negotiation, and cost-reduction initiatives, while collaborating closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to enhance operational efficiency and minimize supply chain risks.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to optimize procurement of casting parts.
  • Regularize and develop parts from vendors to mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives, diversify suppliers, and consolidate parts and vendors to strengthen the supply chain and reduce dependency on single sources.
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure both cost-effectiveness and high-quality standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to seamlessly integrate casting components into manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct market research to track trends, assess risks, and identify opportunities for supply chain optimization, including budgeting and data-driven part cost validation.
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure adherence to AGTL procurement policies and industry standards.
  • Provide strategic procurement insights to senior management through data-driven reporting.
  • Lead vendor improvement programs for the casting category, prioritizing initiatives and driving measurable results.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Metallurgical Engineering.


Minimum Experience and Knowledge:

  • 8–10 years of experience in the manufacturing or automotive/tractor industry.
  • Strong understanding of strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiations within the casting category.
  • Experience in cost reduction strategies, pricing, supply chain optimization, and process improvement.


Job-Specific/Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in foundry, materials, and machining processes to support quality, cost, and manufacturing
  • Proficiency in supplier negotiation, contract management, and ERP systems.
  • Ability to analyse costs, optimize supply chains, and improve efficiency.
  • Strong collaboration, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Mastery in reporting using Excel or Power-Bi dashboards
