Construction Accountant

In this role, you will be more than a record-keeper. You will be the financial architect of our projects, ensuring that our creative visions are supported by robust cost controls, accurate reporting, and strategic cash flow management. Your Mission

• Project Cost Control: Monitor and analyze project expenditures including labor, materials, and sub-contractor fees against the original budget.
• WIP & Revenue Recognition: Manage Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and ensure revenue is recognized accurately in accordance with IFRS 15.
• Progress Billing: Coordinate with Project Managers and Site Engineers to prepare and submit accurate progress billings and payment certificates.
• Sub-contractor Management: Review and process sub-contractor invoices, ensuring compliance with contract terms and verified site progress.
• Tax & Compliance: Ensure all project accounting is compliant with Qatar’s General Tax Authority (GTA) regulations, including VAT and withholding tax.
• Budget Variance Analysis: Provide monthly "Actual vs. Budget" reports to leadership, identifying risks and opportunities for cost savings.
• Asset Management: Track project-specific equipment and materials, ensuring proper allocation across multiple sites.

The Profile We’re Looking For

• Experience: 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years specifically within the Construction or Architecture industry in Qatar.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Technical Savvy: High proficiency in construction-specific ERP systems (e.g., Candy, CCS, SAP, or Oracle) and advanced Excel modeling.
• Local Expertise: Solid understanding of the Qatari Construction Law, FIDIC contracts, and local banking procedures (WPS).
• Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills—you can speak "finance" to the board and "site reality" to the engineers.
• Mindset: Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to navigate the complexities of multi-site project accounting.
