Duties
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival and ensure a friendly, professional first impression.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes using dental office management software.
- Schedule appointments efficiently, coordinate with clinical staff, and confirm upcoming visits.
- Verify insurance coverage and process claims.
- Maintain accurate medical records, update patient information, and review documentation for completeness.
- Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette; address patient inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Assist with medical and dental administrative support including filing, data entry, and managing electronic health records (EHR systems like eClinicalWorks or Dental-specific platforms).
- Support billing processes by understanding CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding standards, and Medicare/Medicaid requirements.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information during all interactions.
- Collaborate with team members to improve office workflows and enhance patient service experience.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a medical receptionist or front desk role within a dental or medical clinic setting is preferred, but not required.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and insurance verification processes.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems is preferred.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly via phone and in person.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills with experience managing medical records, filing systems, and documentation review.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
- Prior clinic or dental office experience is desirable.
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
