Job Summary:

The Electrical Supervisor – PTW is responsible for supervising and coordinating electrical works under the Permit to Work (PTW) system. The role ensures all electrical installation, maintenance, testing, and shutdown activities are carried out safely, in compliance with company procedures, HSE standards, and Qatar regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:1. PTW Compliance & Coordination

• Ensure all electrical activities are performed under approved PTW procedures.
• Verify and coordinate permits including:
• Electrical Isolation Permit
• Hot Work Permit
• Cold Work Permit
• Confined Space Entry Permit
• Work at Height Permit
• Conduct site inspection before permit activation.
• Confirm proper isolation, de-energization, and LOTO (Lock Out / Tag Out).
• Close permits upon job completion and ensure proper housekeeping.

2. Electrical Supervision

• Supervise installation, maintenance, and repair of:
• LV / MV switchgear
• Transformers
• MCC (Motor Control Centers)
• UPS and battery systems
• Generators
• Lighting and small power systems
• Cable laying and termination
• Ensure work is executed according to approved drawings and method statements.
• Monitor workforce productivity and contractor performance.
• Ensure quality control and adherence to standards.

3. Safety & HSE Compliance

• Enforce PTW and electrical safety standards in line with QatarEnergy requirements.
• Conduct toolbox talks before starting work.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and insulated tools.
• Identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Report unsafe acts, incidents, and near misses.

4. Shutdown & Maintenance Activities

• Supervise electrical shutdown and turnaround works.
• Coordinate with operations for isolation and energization procedures.
• Ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
• Assist in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain PTW logs and daily activity reports.
• Record manpower allocation and work progress.
• Verify completion certificates and test reports.
• Support internal and external audits.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5–8 years of experience in Oil & Gas / Industrial maintenance projects.
• Strong knowledge of PTW systems (preferably QatarEnergy standards).
• Experience in LV/MV electrical systems.
• Familiar with IEC standards and electrical safety regulations.
• Valid QID with transferable visa preferred.
