About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Factory General Manager to lead Expanded Polystyrene Packaging manufacturing facility. You will have full accountability for production, quality, maintenance, safety, and people, driving operational excellence and profitability across the plant.
Responsabilities:
Production & Manufacturing
- Direct all EPS production activities: pre-expansion, bead aging, shape & block molding, cutting, finishing, and dispatch
- Meet daily, weekly, and monthly production targets
- Optimize machine utilization and minimize wastage, losses, and rejections
Cost Control & Profitability
- Control costs across raw materials, steam, coal/fuel, electricity, water, labor, and maintenance
- Analyze production costs and implement cost reduction initiatives
- Ensure operations remain within approved budgets
Boiler, Utilities & Energy Management
- Oversee steam boiler operations and all utility systems
- Monitor steam generation efficiency, coal consumption per ton, and electricity per kg of production
- Ensure preventive maintenance of boilers, compressors, cooling, and electrical infrastructure
Quality Assurance
- Ensure all output meets customer specifications
- Implement quality control procedures throughout production
- Drive corrective and preventive actions; coordinate with sales on customer quality concerns
Maintenance & Engineering
- Develop and enforce preventive maintenance schedules for all machines and equipment
- Minimize breakdowns and downtime
- Champion continuous improvement and automation initiatives
Inventory & Warehousing
- Maintain optimum stock levels of raw materials, packaging, spare parts, and fuel
- Oversee inventory controls, stock reconciliation, and warehouse accuracy
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with the Factory Act 1934, provincial OSH regulations, boiler inspection requirements, and environmental regulations
- Lead safety audits, risk assessments, fire prevention programs, and emergency preparedness
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
People Management
- Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary workforce: production managers, maintenance teams, boiler operators, quality staff, warehouse, security, and contract workers
- Conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs
- Maintain discipline, productivity, and compliance with labor laws
Supply Chain & Customer Deliveries
- Coordinate with Sales and Logistics to ensure on-time order fulfillment
- Resolve production-related customer issues promptly
Strategy & Business Development
- Develop annual production and operational plans
- Identify opportunities for capacity expansion, new product development, and process improvements
- Recommend capital investments and modernization projects
Qualifications
- Required: B.E. / B.Sc. in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering
Experience
- 12–15 years of manufacturing experience
- Minimum 5 years in a senior management role within plastics, EPS, packaging, insulation, or process manufacturing
- Proven expertise in steam boiler operations, production costing, maintenance management, and labor management
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Analytical mindset with a focus on cost and efficiency
- Solid understanding of EHS regulations and compliance
- Excellent coordination and communication skills across departments
- Ability to drive operational and strategic goals simultaneously
- Preferred: MBA in Operations Management
Pay: Rs500,000.00 - Rs600,000.00 per month
