Job Title: Fashion Designer

Department: Design & Product Development

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly creative and detail-oriented Leather Garments Fashion Designer with strong experience in Western fashion and leather apparel. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing innovative, market-relevant leather garment collections while ensuring alignment with global trends, brand identity, and production feasibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop leather garment collections including jackets, coats, bottoms, and fashion-led leather apparel.
  • Research international fashion trends, silhouettes, finishes, colors, and leather treatments.
  • Create concept boards, mood boards, sketches, and technical drawings for leather garments.
  • Select appropriate leather types, linings, trims, hardware, and finishes.
  • Collaborate closely with product development, merchandising, and production teams to ensure design feasibility.
  • Oversee sampling, fittings, and revisions to maintain quality, fit, and aesthetic standards.
  • Ensure designs meet brand guidelines, cost targets, and production timelines.
  • Coordinate with tanneries, vendors, and suppliers for leather sourcing and development.
  • Monitor leather quality, finishing techniques, and compliance with production standards.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Leather Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in leather garments design, preferably in Western fashion.
  • Strong understanding of leather types, tanning processes, garment construction, and finishing techniques.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or equivalent design software.
  • Experience working with export or international fashion brands will be an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong creative vision with excellent attention to detail.
  • In-depth knowledge of leather garment construction and production processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple design projects under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset with sound decision-making abilities.

Working Conditions

  • Office-based role with regular coordination across design, production, and sourcing teams.
  • Occasional market visits, vendor meetings, and factory coordination may be required.
