Hardware and Software Licensing Compliance Specialist

Hardware Asset Management (HAM)

· Manage the complete hardware lifecycle including procurement, deployment, inventory tracking, refresh, reuse, and secure disposal.

· Maintain accurate hardware asset records in the asset management system (e.g., ServiceNow or equivalent).

· Ensure alignment between physical assets and device management platforms (e.g., Intune, SCCM).

· Coordinate with vendors and procurement teams for ordering, returns, warranties, and lease management.

· Support device refresh programs and chargeback/showback models.

· Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance with internal policies.

· Ensure secure handling of assets in line with data protection and security standards.

Software Asset Management (SAM)

· Manage software licenses across on‑premises, cloud, and SaaS environments.

· Track software usage, entitlements, and deployments to ensure license compliance.

· Support software audits by vendors and internal compliance teams.

· Identify opportunities for license optimization and cost savings.

· Collaborate with application owners to govern software requests and renewals.

· Maintain accurate license and contract records, including renewal dates and usage

rights.

· Align SAM practices with financial, legal, and security requirements.

Experience

· 4+ Experience in IT Asset Management, including HAM and/or SAM.

· Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management and license compliance.

· Hands‑on experience with asset management tools (e.g., ServiceNow SAM/HAM, Flexera, Snow, or similar).

· Familiarity with endpoint and cloud platforms (e.g., Intune, Azure, Microsoft 365).

· Ability to analyse asset and license data to identify risks and optimization opportunities.

· Strong documentation and reporting skills.

· Excellent stakeholder communication and coordination skills.
