Key Responsibilities
- Establish, implement, and continuously improve Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) management systems in line with Bahrain regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Ensure full compliance with regulations issued by the Ministry of Labor and applicable environmental legislation.
- Plan and conduct periodic site inspections, internal audits, and comprehensive risk assessments.
- Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors; implement corrective and preventive action plans.
- Lead investigations of incidents, accidents, and environmental events; prepare detailed analytical reports with root cause analysis.
- Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and specialized training programs to employees and contractors.
- Monitor and enforce proper use of PPE and adherence to safe systems of work.
- Maintain accurate HSE records including training logs, inspection reports, incident statistics, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate with regulatory bodies such as the Supreme Council for Environment when required.
- Evaluate contractor and subcontractor compliance with HSE policies and contractual obligations.
- Develop, implement, and test emergency response procedures; organize mock drills and evacuation exercises.
- Support implementation and maintenance of ISO management systems, including International Organization for Standardization standards (ISO 45001 & ISO 14001).
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related discipline.
- NEBOSH IGC certification (mandatory). Additional certifications such as IOSH or Lead Auditor will be an advantage.
- Minimum 4–7 years of HSE experience; industry-specific experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Bahrain Labor Law and local HSE regulatory frameworks.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are an added advantage.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to influence and promote a positive safety culture.
