Human Resources Specialist

Accela Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and people-first Human Resources Specialist to join our team at our Somerton skilled nursing facility. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships, supporting employees through the full HR lifecycle, and being a trusted partner to leadership and staff alike.

What You’ll Do

As our Human Resources Specialist, you’ll be a key point of contact for employees and managers, helping ensure a positive, organized, and compliant workplace. Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the on-site HR resource for employees and leadership
  • Support recruitment efforts including onboarding, orientation, and new hire paperwork
  • Maintain personnel files and ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and company regulations
  • Assist with employee relations matters, including coaching, documentation, and investigations
  • Administer benefits, leaves of absence, and employee status changes
  • Track and support performance management processes
  • Partner with leadership to foster employee engagement and a strong workplace culture
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and healthcare regulations
  • Assist with audits, reports, and HR projects as needed


What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in Human Resources (healthcare or long-term care strongly preferred)
  • Working knowledge of HR compliance, employee relations, and onboarding processes
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
  • Excellent communication skills—approachable, clear, and confident
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
