Job Title: Import Purchase Officer – Frozen Foods

Job Overview:

The Import Purchase Officer will be responsible for handling international procurement activities of frozen food products, ensuring timely sourcing, cost efficiency, compliance with import regulations, and maintaining strong relationships with overseas suppliers. The role requires expertise in import documentation, negotiation skills, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders to maintain a smooth supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source frozen food products internationally in line with company quality and pricing standards.
• Negotiate with global suppliers for best pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
• Manage end-to-end import process including purchase orders, proforma invoices, and import documentation (LC, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, Health Certificates, etc.).
• Liaise with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and clearing agents for smooth and timely import clearance.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate with sales/warehouse teams to ensure adequate inventory.
• Ensure compliance with international trade laws, UAE import regulations, and food safety standards.
• Maintain vendor database and develop long-term supplier relationships.
• Track shipments, prepare periodic procurement reports, and handle discrepancies or claims with suppliers.
• Work closely with QA/QC teams to ensure quality checks upon arrival of goods.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in import purchasing/procurement within the frozen foods or FMCG industry.
• Strong knowledge of international sourcing, shipping documentation, and UAE import regulations.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple shipments simultaneously.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Preferred:

• Experience with cold chain logistics and frozen/chilled food handling.
• Familiarity with halal certification and international food safety standards.
• Fluency in English (Arabic or other languages an added advantage).

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
