Lead Infant Teacher

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Infant Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will lead classroom activities, develop engaging curricula, and foster a nurturing environment that supports the holistic growth of infants. Your leadership will ensure that each child's developmental needs are met through innovative teaching strategies, effective classroom management, and collaborative teamwork. Responsibilities

  • Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans tailored to infants’ individual needs, incorporating curriculum development principles and early childhood education best practices.
  • Lead daily classroom activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development, including literacy education and physical education.
  • Manage classroom environment to ensure safety, cleanliness, and organization in accordance with childcare standards and child welfare policies.
  • Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and support staff to maintain high-quality classroom management and childcare standards.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding each child's progress, behavior management strategies, and developmental milestones.
  • Collaborate with specialists in special education and early intervention to support children with diverse learning needs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to child development assessments, standardized testing results, and lesson planning records.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with children in a classroom setting, particularly in toddler care or preschool environments.
  • Strong knowledge of childhood development theories, behavior management techniques, and early intervention strategies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, literacy education, math instruction.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, staff, and community partners.
  • Prior classroom management experience with a focus on creating inclusive and nurturing learning environments.
  • Familiarity with childcare licensing regulations, daycare standards, and child welfare policies.
  • Lead teachers must possess sixty semester hours of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six; or One year (1560 clock hours) of child development experience in a nursery school, kindergarten, or licensed day care center and 30 semester hours of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six; or Completion of credentialing programs approved by DCFS.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
