The Leasing Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the leasing operations of residential or commercial properties. This role ensures high occupancy rates, maximizes rental income, and maintains excellent tenant relationships.
The Leasing Manager leads the leasing team, develops strategies for tenant acquisition and retention, ensures compliance with property laws and organizational policies, and drives operational efficiency. This position plays a key role in achieving financial targets, maintaining property standards, and promoting a positive tenant experience.
Team Leadership & Management
•Lead, supervise, and mentor the leasing team, including leasing agents and assistants.• Set performance targets, monitor progress, and conduct performance appraisals.• Provide training and guidance on leasing processes, customer service, and property regulations.•
Leasing Operations & Strategy
•Develop and implement leasing strategies to maximize occupancy and rental revenue.• Monitor leasing activities, including property viewings, tenant screening, lease execution, and renewals.• Analyze market trends, rental rates, and competitor offerings to recommend pricing and marketing strategies.• Ensure leasing operations comply with property laws, fair housing regulations, and organizational policies.•
Tenant Relations & Retention
•Maintain high tenant satisfaction through timely communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving.• Address escalated tenant complaints or issues and coordinate solutions with relevant departments.• Develop initiatives to improve tenant engagement and retention.•
Marketing & Lead Management
•Oversee property marketing campaigns, advertising, and listing management.• Ensure effective lead generation, conversion, and tracking through CRM or property management systems.•
Reporting & Documentation
•Prepare and present regular reports on occupancy, leasing activity, revenue, and market trends.• Maintain accurate records of lease agreements, tenant files, and leasing documentation.• Ensure compliance with internal controls and auditing requirements.•
Financial Oversight
•Monitor leasing revenue, occupancy targets, and rental collection performance.• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning related to leasing operations. Minimize financial risk by ensuring accurate tenant screening, deposits, and lease compliance.
RELATED YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Minimum: 5–7 years in property leasing, real estate, or property management
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN MANAGERIAL POSITION
Minimum: 2–3 years leading a leasing or property management team
FIELD OF EXPERIENCE
Residential or commercial property leasing
Property management and tenant relations
Real estate marketing, sales, and lease administration
Financial oversight and revenue management
Legal compliance in property laws and fair housing regulations
TECHNICAL AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
