Job Summary
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring logistics activities related to import and export of furniture, local transportation, loading/unloading, and coordination with freight forwarders, transporters, and SAIF Zone authorities. The role is operational and execution-focused, supporting smooth material movement while ensuring compliance with Free Zone regulations.
Key ResponsibilitiesImport & Export Operations
- Coordinate import and export shipments of fabricated equipment, panels, skids, and packages
- Prepare and verify shipping documents including:
- Commercial invoices
- Packing lists
- Certificates of origin
- Delivery notes
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, clearing agents, and SAIF Zone customs for timely clearance
- Track shipments and update internal teams on delivery status
Local Transportation & Handling
- Arrange local trucking for inbound and outbound materials and finished equipment
- Coordinate loading and unloading activities at factory, ports, and customer sites
- Ensure proper packing, lashing, and securing of equipment during transport
- Plan transportation based on equipment size, weight, and handling requirements
Warehouse & Yard Coordination
- Coordinate material movement between:
- Dispatch area
- Maintain records of incoming and outgoing materials and equipment
- Coordinate with stores and production teams for readiness of dispatch
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure logistics activities comply with:
- SAIF Zone regulations
- UAE customs and transport rules
- Maintain accurate logistics records and files for audits and Free Zone inspections
- Support preparation of documents for gate passes, delivery permits, and vehicle access
Cost & Vendor Coordination
- Obtain and compare quotations from transporters and freight forwarders
- Assist in controlling logistics costs and improving efficiency
- Maintain coordination with approved logistics vendors
Authority & Responsibility
- Authorized to coordinate logistics activities within approved operational procedures
- Responsible for timely and safe movement of materials and equipment
- Accountable for accuracy of logistics documentation
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field
Experience Requirements
- 3–6 years of experience in logistics coordination
- Familiarity with import/export procedures in UAE Free Zones, preferably SAIF Zone
Skills & Competencies
- Good knowledge of UAE import/export documentation and procedures
- Experience coordinating local trucking and equipment handling
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Working knowledge of MS Excel and basic ERP systems
- Ability to coordinate multiple shipments and priorities
Working Conditions
- Office-based role with frequent coordination at factory yard and loading areas
- Occasional interaction with ports, transporters, and SAIF Zone authorities
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Follow company and SAIF Zone HSE policies
- Ensure safe loading, unloading, and transportation practices
- Report unsafe conditions or incidents immediately
