New Product Development (Pharmaceuticals)

Medicam Group is looking to hire a Manager – New Product Development (Pharmaceuticals) to help drive the next phase of growth by identifying and launching high-impact, long-life pharmaceutical products.

This role is not sales and not pure R&D.

It sits at the intersection of market opportunity, technical feasibility, and execution.

The successful candidate will play a key role in helping Medicam build blockbuster products that remain relevant for decades by:

  • Selecting the right products to launch
  • Building strong business cases
  • Driving development (in-house or via contract manufacturers)
  • Taking products from concept to commercial launch

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Identification & Market Research

  • Identify pharmaceutical products with long-term market demand (20–30+ years lifecycle)
  • Conduct market research including:
  • Competitor analysis
  • Price benchmarking
  • Market size estimation
  • Work closely with Sales & Marketing to identify gaps in the current portfolio
  • Prepare product opportunity proposals for management review and approval

2. Launch Readiness & Handover

  • Ensure products are commercially and operationally ready before launch
  • Support Marketing & Sales with:
  • Product positioning inputs
  • Basic product training
  • Supply readiness
  • Conduct post-launch reviews to assess performance versus plan

3. Product Development & Execution

  • Lead products from concept to commercialization
  • Coordinate with:
  • R&D / Formulation
  • Quality Assurance (QA)
  • Quality Control (QC)
  • Regulatory Affairs (RA)
  • Production
  • Oversee:
  • Formulation development
  • Stability studies
  • Pilot and validation batches
  • Technology transfer to manufacturing

Key Deliverables

  • Product opportunity reports
  • Approved product business cases
  • Developed and registered pharmaceutical products
  • Successful handover to Sales & Marketing
  • On-time and compliant product launches

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Pharm-D / B.Pharm / M.Pharm (mandatory)

Experience

  • 5–10 years of experience in:
  • Pharmaceutical product development
  • New Product Development (NPD)
  • Formulation, scale-up, and/or technology transfer
  • Exposure to:
  • Oral liquids, solid dosage forms, or OTC products (preferred)
  • Pakistani pharmaceutical market (strongly preferred)
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
