Overview

JOB PURPOSE

  • Retain all responsibilities and perform duties of a SET with 70% of the times spent at the lines
  • Train, Coach and Certify FLE in Technical Training (approximately 30% of the time)
  • Travel beyond one’s own location to further develop own skills, train, coach and certify Technicians and provide the needed support to others.
  • Function as a role model by modelling PepsiCo Values

Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Function as a “go-to” person when product, process, people (technical skills), or equipment problems arise.
  • Train, coach and certify FLE, S & FLM, S in aspects of equipment operation, product manufacturing and quality assessment. (FLM only in optimisation section)
  • Function as a product expert and “go-to” for maintaining product quality
  • Fully utilise the Performance Process to solve complex problems
  • Assist with external support requests.
  • Travel to other PepsiCo plants to:
  • Support training and development needs
  • Develop one’s own skills, complete activities needed for re-certification as an Expert Trainer
  • Apart from the above, employee is expected to perform other accountabilities, time to time assigned by the manager.

DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY:

  • The jobholder makes decisions that influence production performance.
  • Decides on required developmental work relating process equipment or parameters.
  • The jobholder balances efficiencies KPI,s and quality buckets.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • Certification as SET
  • Certified as able to perform all aspects of applicable Technician job
  • Leads by example - “walks the talk”
  • Skill in facilitating training sessions/meetings (instruction, facilitation and coaching skills)
  • Skill in differentiating different levels of on-the-job performance in FLE
  • Skill in training and developing others
  • Ability to influence others
  • Skill in communicating with others (verbal, written) - fluent English speak
  • Skill in evaluating training, tools, on-line information
  • Understanding of the importance of the KPI scorecard
  • Ability to collect data and to demonstrate ROI for training investments

It is expected that the above would be continually developed in role alongside changes (especially technology and process requirements) in plant.
