Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy to ensure smooth and efficient functioning.
- Supervise and support the pharmacy team (pharmacists, assistants, delivery personnel) to ensure service excellence.
- Ensure compliance with DHA and internal operational standards.
- Develop and implement SOPs to streamline workflows, inventory control, and quality assurance.
Procurement & Supply Chain
- Manage procurement of all pharmaceutical and medical items from sourcing to supplier negotiation to delivery.
- Monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and ensure timely replenishment to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Maintain relationships with distributors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and reliability.
- Oversee the logistics of medication delivery and inter-branch supply between GluCare facilities.
Financial & Administrative Oversight
- Track pharmacy financial performance including sales, margins, and procurement costs.
- Prepare periodic reports on inventory, purchasing trends, and cost control measures.
- Collaborate with the Finance department for reconciliations, purchase orders, and vendor payments.
- Ensure compliance with internal auditing and reporting requirements.
Regulatory & Quality Compliance
- Support the DHA-licensed Pharmacist-in-Charge with compliance, audits, and documentation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure the pharmacy adheres to proper storage, handling, and dispensing protocols.
People Management
- Supervise, coach, and motivate the pharmacy operations team.
- Coordinate work schedules and manage performance appraisals.
- Ensure continuous training and professional development of pharmacy staff.
Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with the clinical and operations teams to align pharmacy processes with patient-care delivery.
- Serve as the operational liaison between the pharmacy, management, and other departments.
- Ensure prompt resolution of operational or supply-related issues impacting clinical services.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Healthcare Management, or related field.
- Extensive experience in operations, procurement, or healthcare facility management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and deliver results in a fast-paced, regulated healthcare environment.
