Pastry Chef – Catering

Roles & responsibilities

The Pastry Chef is responsible for preparing high-quality desserts, pastries, breads, and other baked goods. They manage the pastry section of the kitchen, ensure consistency and creativity in presentation, maintain food safety standards, and may supervise junior staff.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and bake pastries, cakes, cookies, tarts, breads, and specialty desserts
  • Design and update dessert menus based on seasonal ingredients and trends
  • Decorate pastries using various techniques (icing, glazing, piping, chocolate work, etc.)
  • Manage inventory and order baking supplies and ingredients
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
  • Train and supervise pastry cooks and assistants
  • Control food costs and minimize waste
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu planning

Desired candidate profile

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques and dessert presentation
  • Creativity and attention to detail
  • Understanding of food safety regulations
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Culinary degree or pastry certification (preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: QAR4,000.00 - QAR5,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
