Qatar University’s Agricultural Research Station is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Associate/Assistant to join our Agrotechnology and Food Innovation team. The successful candidate will support innovation in precision farming and agri-tech solutions, including hydroponics, vertical farming, food processing technologies, and non-conventional plant-derived food products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plant nutrition, agrotechnology, and food innovation, with a passion for driving sustainable solutions in agriculture.
1. Conduct research on hydroponics, vertical farming systems, and non-conventional food production methods.
2. Design and execute experiments to optimize plant growth, yield, and nutritional value.
3. Investigate applications of nanotechnology in agriculture, including nutrient delivery and crop protection.
4. Develop waste-to-value solutions from agricultural by-products.
5. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement agrotechnology solutions using AI, IoT, robotics, and data-driven approaches.
6. Explore biotechnology, genetic engineering, and alternative protein sources for sustainable food systems.
7. Analyze research data and prepare reports, publications, and presentations.
8. Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and contribute to patents and technology transfer.
9. Stay updated on advancements in agrotechnology and food innovation.
10. Mentor students and junior researchers and support research activities.
