Restaurant Manager/Assistant Restaurant Manager

Position Overview: The restaurant manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant. This includes managing staff, maintaining excellent customer service, monitoring costs and profits, and ensuring food quality and safety standards are met. The manager represents the public face of the restaurant and helps build its reputation.

Responsibilities:

  • Directly responsible for Guest experience via service, food quality and ambiance standards.
  • Active on the floor and covering other managers days off to ensure seamless guest experience.
  • Improving Sales via training in increasing Average Check in all outlets.
  • New junior employee hiring & roster approvals with assistance of HR dept.
  • Budgetary cost controls (Salaries, maintenance, electricity, and gas) with assistance of Finance.
  • Demand management (FOH, Maintenance & HK) with coordination of Inventory & purchase dept.
  • Service and food quality controls.
  • Weekly Training program design, scheduling & implementation (FOH, HK & BAR) with coordination with HR dept
  • Plating & service standardization, controls, and implementation.
  • Cutlery and Crockery controls and breakage management.
  • High tea Buffet management (food wastage, pilferage), display and presentation
  • Laundry and linen controls: Timely supply of proper and clean uniforms, tablecloths, napkins & wiping sheets
  • Roster management of all FOH.
  • Daily monitoring and correction of mistakes in service and food.
  • Guest and Govt relations (Food authority etc.) assisting Gen Mgr.
  • Training of Bartenders in five special drinks, coffee making and cleanliness of bar areas and proper stock management and costs controls.
  • Management & cost controls in consultation with finance
  • Promotions, advertisement, social media promotions and special days/holidays promotions & decorations two weeks in advance.
  • Handling of Guest Crisis, Guest reservations, takeaways & deliveries through aggressive training, orientation on twice a month basis
  • All maintenance issues (Kitchen, furniture, floors, paint, equipment, ACs, generators etc.) within budget
  • Fire Safety
  • Double checking General cleanliness and Double-Checking kitchen & equipment of all outlets
  • Directly responsible for smooth functioning of all departments (FOH, Bar, HK, Valets, Security)
  • Food Safety, staff presentation, personal hygiene.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a management role within the restaurant and/or Hotel industry.
  • Leadership and staff management skills
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Budgeting and inventory management skills
  • Ability to work varying shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
