Purpose of the Job:
The Receptionist / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) serves as the first point of contact for students, parents, visitors, and staff while also providing basic health services to students. This dual role position supports the daily operations of the school office and promotes the health, safety, and well-being of the school community. The individual should demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and a commitment to supporting the mission and values of a Christian educational environment.
Experience and Knowledge:
- Demonstrates a Christ-like servant attitude

- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of employment.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Previous experience in pediatric, school, or clinic settings preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Proficiency with basic office technology and computer systems.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced school environment.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Health Services (LPN Duties)
- Provide basic nursing care and first aid to students and staff.
- Assess students who become ill or injured during the school day and determine appropriate action.
- Administer medications to students according to physician orders and school policy.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student health records.
- Monitor students with chronic health conditions and ensure care plans are followed.
- Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health concerns when necessary.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and ensure the health room is properly stocked.
- Follow school policies and state regulations regarding student health services.
Reception and Administrative Duties
- Serve as the primary front office receptionist by greeting and assisting students, parents, visitors, and staff in a welcoming and professional manner.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls and respond to general inquiries.
- Manage visitor check-in procedures and maintain campus security protocols.
- Maintain student attendance records and assist with student sign-in and sign-out.
- Provide clerical support including filing, data entry, copying, and organizing documents.
- Distribute messages, mail, and packages as needed.
- Assist the school administration with general office tasks and communication.
Spiritual and Community Responsibilities
- Support and uphold the Christian mission, vision, and values of the school.
- Model Christ-like behavior in interactions with students, parents, and staff.
- Participate in school prayer, devotions, and Christian community activities when appropriate.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and move around campus throughout the workday.
- Ability to assist students in medical situations when necessary.
- Ability to lift up to approximately 25 pounds.
