Safety Officer

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor site-specific Health & Safety Plans.
• Conduct risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and safety inspections at construction sites.
• Ensure compliance with local safety regulations, labor laws, and industry standards.
• Monitor and enforce proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training programs for workers and supervisors.
• Identify unsafe acts/conditions and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare detailed safety reports.
• Implement permit-to-work systems for high-risk activities (hot work, lifting, confined spaces).
• Ensure emergency preparedness, including fire safety measures and drills.
• Maintain safety documentation and submit regular reports to management.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and supervisors to promote a strong safety culture.

Qualifications & Experience (optional to include):

• Degree/Diploma in Safety Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Safety certification (e.g., SARS, OSHA, NEBOSH, IOSH) preferred.
• Experience in building or construction projects.
• Strong communication and site supervision skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED7,000.00 per month
