</b></p><p>This classification level works under general supervision and is responsible for spending a majority of time in the courtroom and providing courtroom related work such as capturing and recording verbatim proceedings of court and maintaining case information during and after proceedings. Responsibilities may include preparing documents for each court session (e.g. label exhibits, prepare journal entries); recording proceedings; schedule further court hearings.

</b></p></div><div><ul><li><p><b>Starting Salary: </b>$37,027.38 annually (Hiring Rate). <b>Effective July 1st 2026
</b></p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p><b>Immediate Growth: </b>Earn a 2.5% pay increase after successfully completing your probation period (if starting at Hiring Rate).
</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p><b>Starting Rate Flexibility: </b>Higher starting pay may be considered based on education and experience, subject to final management approval .
</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p><b>Please Note: </b>Candidates approved to start above the Hiring Rate (at or above the Minimum Permanent rate) are not eligible for the 2.5% post-probation increase.
</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p><b>Future Increases: </b>Annual cost-of-living adjustments (applied on July 1) are subject to State Legislature approval.
</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Job Duties
</b></p><p><b>1. </b>Monitors on-going case files, which includes: identifying appropriate forms to be completed or received; monitoring case status; issuing and processing warrants and civil suspensions; tracking and maintaining files; and/or, performing other related activities.
</p><p><b>2. </b>Processes and prepares casework for court sessions; notates court actions on applicable documents and forms; and/or, performs other related activities.
</p><p><b>3. </b>Maintains court calendar; schedules interpreters, transportation, prosecutors, defense council, and/or events.
</p><p><b>4. </b>Performs routine administrative support duties, which include: scheduling court hearing meetings; labelling exhibits, preparing journal entries and preparing other standard documents for court session.
</p><p><b>5. </b>Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
</p><p>The above classification responsibilities represent only the key areas of responsibilities; specific position assignments will vary depending on the business needs of the department.<br>

<p><b>Requirements/Qualifications
</b></p><p><b>Minimum Qualifications: </b>High school diploma or GED; and 2 years of courtroom clerk experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

</i></p></div><p></p><div><p>All educational credits must be granted from an accredited institution approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education.
</p><p></p><p><b>Other Requirements: </b>Must be able to accurately type court proceedings, and may be required to take a typing test during the interview process.
</p><p></p><p><b>Knowledge Skills and Abilities
</b></p><p><b>Knowledge:

</li><li>Computers and related software applications;
</li><li>Criminal coding concepts;
</li><li>Federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations;

</li><li>Maintaining records;
</li><li>Performing data entry;
