SUMMARY
<br>We are seeking an experienced Connector Development Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and development of next-generation interconnect products. This role will focus on creating advanced connector and cable solutions including signal and power connectors that meet the performance, reliability, and cost demands of leading technology customers worldwide. The ideal candidate will have a background in connector design and development, hands-on engineering experience, and the ability to collaborate across global teams and customer partners.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

<li>Reviews and documents customer requirements and designs products in compliance with stated requirements, focusing on ease of manufacturing with high reliability.</li>
<li>Develop prototypes, oversee testing/qualification, and ensure compliance with industry and customer performance standards.</li>
<li>Partner with Manufacturing to address cost reduction, quality improvement, and customer issue resolution.</li>
<li>Stay current with technological trends and emerging interconnect solutions including power interconnect innovations to guide future product development.</li>
<li>Checks and/ or approves engineering drawings, parts lists, and test sheets</li>
<li>Ensures all ECNs are processed efficiently, effectively, and consistently.</li>

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
<br>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear; use hands to type/write and arms to reach. <br>QUALIFICATIONS

<li>Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.</li>
<li>3+ years of experience in connector and/or cable assembly design and development.</li>
<li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and design skills.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across global teams.</li>
<li>Proficiency in 3D modeling tools (e.g., Creo) and Product Data Management systems (e.g., Windchill) preferred.</li>
<li>Proficient in using DFMEA to evaluate and mitigate risks in mechanical assemblies and design analyses.</li>

This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight.<div></div><div>
As part of a small, passionate, multi-disciplinary team of engineers, you will be responsible for developing, building, testing, and supporting the next generation of liquid rocket engine electrical ignition systems. We are looking for a self-motivated and highly organized individual with strong electrical engineering and project management experience to take ownership of one or more ignition system projects, mentor more junior electrical engineers, and drive products towards maturity. A typical day might involve leading an Agile scrum followed by a schematic review, then meeting with electronics manufacturing subcontractors between troubleshooting a circuit in the lab and managing vehicle interface requirements. An ideal candidate can work with some direction and coordinate teams in the execution of engineering integration activities.</div><div></div><div>
Responsibilities:</div><ul><li>
Electrical design of analog circuits used in ignition systems for rocket engines and thrusters.</li><li>
Interpret systems engineering and quality requirements as they apply to electrical product development.</li><li>
Develop circuits, boards, and rugged electronic hardware assemblies across the entire product life-cycle; including concept and requirements definition, design, prototyping, verification (power-on, functional / acceptance / qualification testing) and release to production.</li><li>
Support risk analyses, failure modes effects and criticality analyses (FMECA), design for test/manufacture/cost (DFx), and root-cause analysis of test discrepancies.</li><li>
Manage design schedules of avionics subsystem.</li><li>
Routinely present program status and issues.</li><li>
Identify root cause failure modes using fault tree and fishbone methodologies.</li><li>
Develop comprehensive program planning artifacts such as integrated master plans, integrated master schedules, work breakdown structures, and hardware utilization lists that fully capture project scope and translate it into executable work aligned to avionics development standards (e.g. ARP4754A, DO-160, DO-178C, DO-254, DO-330)</li><li>
Identify and resolve or escalate &ldquo;blockers&rdquo; to team performance.</li><li>
Clearly and concisely present information on current and upcoming projects to senior leaders</li><li>
Perform risk identification and management.</li></ul><div></div><div>

B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 7 years of professional experience of which 5+ years of direct experience in electronics hardware development</li><li>

Direct hands-on experience with analog, digital circuit design, analysis, test, and debug.</li><li>

Understanding of mechanical packaging of avionics in harsh environmental conditions.</li><li>
Knowledge of EMI issues related to precision analog or high voltage design.</li><li>
Proficiency using CAD layout tools to craft sophisticated printed circuit boards; and experience working with external board manufacturing and assembly vendors.</li><li>
Exposure to designing safety or critically important aerospace flight hardware aligned with DO-254.</li><li>
Experience with avionics development standards such as ARP4754A, DO-178C, DO-330 or similar.</li><li>
Exposure to development of high-reliability and radiation-tolerant flight hardware intended for prolonged exposure to extreme space environments.</li></ul><div></div><div><br>

As a Lifecycle BIM Specialist, you will produce and maintain Lifecycle sets for MEP drawing sets for our fleet of Data Centers. You will provide support to the Fleet Remediation Engineering team through preparation of computer generated MEP Lifecycle drawing sets ensuring that all as-built drawings are accurately updated. Your experience in Revit and ACAD will be utilized to update and create new BIM models from as-built documentation.<br>

Your experience in Architectural, Structural, &amp; Civil drawings is a plus but you will influence design &amp; record documents for all Commercial/industrial Building Systems centering on MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, &amp; Plumbing) for Air Handling Units, Cooling towers, Chillers, Controls, Fire Detection/Suppression, Plumbing &amp; Piping, P&amp;ID, elements of high, medium and low voltage transmission fundamentals, industrial electrical distribution, wire types and sizes, conduit types &amp; configurations for riser and underground applications, as well as fiber optic and copper data/voice media types, details, elevations, &amp; schedules.<br>

You will help develop tools and procedures for standards compliance to streamline workflow and assist with reporting metrics for the GL team while providing support to the Fleet Remediation Engineering team through preparation of ACS/MEP Lifecycle drawing sets. You will provide support for this content through our Global Library as well as preforming on-site validation as needed. You should have experience producing and maintaining permit, construction, and record drawing sets for large facilities (Data Centers, Factories, Hospitals, etc.).<br>
