<li>Help , support and Carry out inspections, preventive and corrective maintenance, and repairs on Surface exploration drill rigs</li><br>

QUALIFICATION:<br>

<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical) or technical with 10 years exp.</li><br>
<br>
<li>5+ years supervisory experience handling drill rig maintenance in mining operations.</li><br>
<br>
<li>Excellent English communication skills (both oral and written).</li><br>
<br>
<li>Knowledgeable in MS Office applications and Maintenance Software/Program.</li></div>

The Surface Driller DD and /or RC, is responsible for safely and efficiently operating drilling rigs and associated equipment<br>

for mineral exploration projects. The role involves drilling boreholes to obtain core samples, maintaining high safety and<br>

environmental standards, and ensuring drilling productivity and quality in accordance with client and company requirements.<br>
<br>
Key Responsibilities<br>

Drilling Operations<br>

<li>Operate surface diamond and / or RC drill rigs to extract core samples from designated drill sites.</li><br>

<li>Monitor drilling parameters, adjust techniques, and maintain core recovery and quality.</li><br>
<br>
<li>Set up, align, and dismantle drill rigs and support equipment as required.</li><br>
<br>
<li>Conduct routine inspections of rigs and equipment to ensure safe working condition.</li><br>

Operational Management:<br>
<br>
<li>Supervise and coordinate daily drilling activities on-site.</li><br>

<li>Plan drilling operations in alignment with project schedules, budgets, and client requirements.</li><br>
<br>
<li>Ensure correct rig set-up, alignment, and drilling practices for various formations.</li><br>

<li>Monitor drilling performance, penetration rates, and core recovery to optimize efficiency.</li><br>
<br>
<li>Troubleshoot technical and operational problems, including stuck rods, fluid loss, or unstable formations.</li><br>
<br>
<li>Ensures the highest level of safety, health and environmental work standards are maintained. Inspect drill sites and work areas to confirm safety and address hazards before work begins.</li><br>

<li>Lead the drilling teams through toolbox talks at the start of Day &amp; Night shifts.</li><br>

<li>Verify pre-checks on all vehicles, equipment, and rigs before each shift.</li><br>

<li>Manage surface and underground drilling rig activities and closely monitor the field rig operations, including continuous performance improvements in both personnel and equipment. Ensure that performance and issues are recorded and reported.</li><br>

The ideal candidate shall be involved in maintenance activities such as trouble shooting,repairing, and installation of parts to minimize downtime and improve overall rig productivity.<br>
<br>

JOB DESCRIPTION:<br>
<br>
<li>Ensures the highest level of safety, health and environmental work standards are</li><br>
<br>
maintained.<br>
<br>
<li>Carry out inspections, preventive and corrective maintenance, and repairs on Surface</li><br>
<br>
exploration drill rigs<br>
<br>
<li>Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics and manuals.</li><br>
<br>
<li>Conducting regular inspections of drilling equipment to identify potential issues and</li><br>
<br>
performing routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and<br>
<br>
lubrication, and diagnostic equipment to fabricate or repair components.<br>
<br>
<li>Provide technical feedback to planners and reliability engineers to improve maintenance</li><br>
<br>
strategies and documentation.<br>
<br>
<li>Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and work hours.</li><br>
<br>
<li>Ensure all maintenance and repairs are performed in line with company safety</li><br>
<br>
standards<br>

QUALIFICATIONS:<br>
<br>
<li>Technical Diploma or High School with equivalent years of experience.</li><br>
<br>
<li>5+ years&rsquo; of experience in Surface exploration drill rigs ( DD and RC )</li><br>
<br>
<li>Good English communication skills (both oral and written).</li></div>
