Job overview:A highly skilled Material Engineer with at least 4 to 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in the technical evaluation, material inspection, preservation, and provide necessary support to Inventory Management. This position requires in-depth technical knowledge of materials used in oil and gas applications, the ability to assess material integrity, and to ensure efficient inventory management and cost savings. This position will also collaborate closely with various departments to ensure materials meet all required standards for performance, quality, and safety.Key Responsibilities:Material Technical Evaluation:&middot; Conduct detailed technical evaluations and assessments of materials used in oil and gas operations, equipment, and spare parts.&middot; Review material specifications, product certification, and test data to ensure that all materials meet industry standards (e.g., ASTM, API, NACE).&middot; Provide recommendations on material selection based on performance, environmental standards, cost efficiency, and safety standards.Material Preservation: &middot; Oversee and manage material preservation processes, ensuring materials are stored, handled, and maintained according to best practices and industry standards.&middot; Develop and implement preservation plans to protect materials from environmental factors (corrosion, moisture, temperature fluctuations) during storage and transit.&middot; Monitor and track the condition of preserved materials, ensuring that materials remain in optimum condition for use in operations.&middot; Train personnel in best practices for material preservation and ensure compliance with preservation procedures and industry regulations.&middot;Inventory Management:&middot; Identify duplicate materials across inventory to optimise stock levels, reduce excess material, and avoid unnecessary procurement costs.&middot; Assist in reconciling material inventories by conducting audits and ensuring proper cataloguing of materials to minimise the risk of duplication.Collaboration and Reporting:&middot; Collaborate with the procurement technical department and project teams to provide technical input on material selection. preservation. and identification to support project goals and time.&middot; Prepare and present technical reports, analysis, and recommendations related to material, preservation plans, and inventory control for management and other stakeholders.&middot; Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards, and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes related to material management and preservation.Qualifications: &middot; Bachelor's degree in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.&middot; Minimum of 5 years of experience in trial engineering within the oil and gas industry, with a focus on technical evaluation, material preservation, and duplicate identification.&middot; Strong knowledge of materials used in oil and gas operations, including (carbon steel, stainless steel, alloys), and other industry-specific materials.&middot; Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to material selection, preservation, and quality assurance (e.g.,ASTM, API, NACE).&middot; Familiarity with material preservation methods and best practices, including corrosion prevention and storage conditions.&middot; Knowledge of ERP systems.&middot; Excellent attention to detail, with a strong ability to identify and address issues related to material duplication and inventory management.&middot; Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. with the ability to evaluate complex material-related challenges and propose effective solutions.&middot; Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including the technical department,&middot; Procurements and operations, to meet project and operational objectives.&middot; Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to produce technical reports, presentations and documentation.Pay: QAR3,000.00 - QAR4,000.00 per monthWork Location: In person

 Responsibilities

 Review and approve material submittals, mix designs, technical data, and method statements.

 Ensure materials comply with Ashghal, QCS, ASTM, and BS standards.
 </li>
 <li>
 Coordinate with accredited laboratories for testing, verification, and quality assurance.
 </li>
 <li>
 Review test reports, identify non-conformances, and recommend corrective actions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Conduct site inspections to verify material handling, installation, and performance.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain material documentation, reports, and quality records for GEC compliance.
 </li>
 <li>
 Liaise with Ashghal teams, consultants, and contractors on all material-related matters

 </ul>
 
 Qualifications

 Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
 </li>
 <li>
 10-12 years of experience in materials engineering for roads and infrastructure.
 </li>
 <li>
 Previous experience with Ashghal or major consultancy projects is highly preferred.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong knowledge of QCS, Ashghal specifications, and international material standards.
 </li>
 <li>
 Excellent technical review, reporting, and coordination skills.
 </li>
