 As part of the Electrical Engineering program of the Engineering Division and the Center of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics at NYU Abu Dhabi the group of Prof. Kostas J. Kyriakopoulos seeks to improve the autonomy of Field Robotic systems by fusing control theoretic and machine intelligence approaches. Formal models are directly applied in real experimental facilities. Marine Robotics is our current emphasis, without excluding candidates with prior experience on Aerial or Ground Systems.

 We are seeking a Post-Doctoral associate to join our expanding team and make significant contributions to the field. The researcher is expected to have (i) strong engineering skills to find innovative and cost-effective means to improve our research, and (ii) exemplary passion and motivation to enhance our multidisciplinary research at the intersection of control theory and machine intelligence. The Post-Doctoral associate will engage with our regular collaborators at local institutions in the UAE and abroad.
 
 
 Key responsibilities

 Conduct high-quality and innovative research primarily focused on Control theory and ML methodologies for Field Robotics;

 Support the supervisor in developing and implementing the research agenda;
 </li>

 Reproduce results of the state-of-the-art (SOTA) methods;
 </li>
 <li>
 Design and implement experiments on real platforms operating outdoors, to compare our proposed work with SOTA baselines;

 Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts for publication in high-impact journals and conferences;
 </li>
 <li>
 Create, maintain, and document high-quality research code for reproducibility; and
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborate with scientists within the NYU Global Network and in Abu Dhabi.

 Minimum Qualifications

 Possessing a Doctoral degree from a recognized institution in Electrical, Mechanical, Naval or Aerospace Engineering. Must be still within the first 5 years since receiving a PhD.

 Demonstrable research experience involving integration of hardware and software of robotic systems.

</h3><div><div>The Perception and Active Cognition laboratory in the Center for Brain &amp; Health, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Post-Doctoral Associate to work on the mechanisms underlying mental processing speed.

The successful applicant will drive a fascinating project that links processing speed measures to previously acquired functional and structural MRI data. The project will also involve simultaneously acquired and co-registered fMRI and EEG measurements. Measures of cognitive &ldquo;Speed of Processing&rdquo; are important for studies of healthy aging and many disorders, including multiple sclerosis, autism spectrum disorders, dyslexia, and schizophrenia, as well as diabetes and obesity. This project investigates the neural correlates of Speed of Processing and its subcomponents, translating into a more complete understanding of the mechanisms involved and their role in brain health. This project combines MRI and EEG/MEG studies with behavioral, genetic, and clinical measures to yield a more complete picture of how processing speed is related to health outcomes.

The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists, graduate students and undergraduate students.

Applicants must have a PhD in psychology, cognitive neuroscience or a related field, and is still within their first 5 years since receiving their PhD. Strong neuroimaging data processing skills relevant to the project are required. Applicant must have no more than five years post receipt of this degree are eligible for a postdoctoral appointment.

Post-Doctoral Associate in the Center for Brain & Health – Dr. David Melcher

 We are inviting applications for a Post-Doctoral Associate in the Division of Social Science at NYU Abu Dhabi from individuals who have or will soon receive a PhD in demography, epidemiology, public health, or a related discipline in the social sciences. The appointment will begin September 1, 2026, subject to final budget approval and is available for up to three years.
 
 
 The post-doctoral associate will spend half their time on independent research, and half their time on collaborative research with Professor St&eacute;phane Helleringer. The collaborative research will be on population health and its determinants in low-and-middle-income countries, with an emphasis on measurement issues and the impact of crises such as epidemics and disasters.
 
 
 The job entails conducting high-quality research on population health and its determinants in low-and-middle-income countries. This includes conceptualizing research questions, designing empirical studies, collecting or acquiring new data sets, and analyzing these data using advanced statistical models and visualization techniques. The job also emphasizes the dissemination of knowledge about population health, particularly through the preparation of peer-reviewed manuscripts, software packages and/or participation in international conferences.
 
 
 Candidates must hold a PhD in demography, epidemiology, public health or related discipline in the social sciences. The ideal candidate is preferred to have prior experience with data collection and collaboration in low-and-middle-income countries and good knowledge of R or other software for data management, analysis and visualization.

Post-Doctoral Associate in the Division of Social Science (SSEL) - Dr. Andrzej Baranski

<div>
 Mubadala Arabian Center for Climate and Environmental Sciences (ACCESS) at New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit an Associate Research Scientist to investigate the molecular and genomic mechanisms underpinning the extraordinary heat tolerance of Arabian Gulf corals, the most thermally resilient corals on Earth.
 
 
 The successful candidate will lead an ambitious research program focused on understanding how individual corals and populations vary in their responses to heat stress. This work will involve the application of genomic and gene expression profiling, as well as eco-physiological assays, to reveal the mechanistic basis of thermal resilience. The position is uniquely placed to bridge fundamental molecular research with applied conservation through close collaboration with another postdoctoral researcher who is leading a selective breeding program for heat-tolerant corals. Together, these efforts will support the development of robust coral populations capable of withstanding intensifying climate-related stressors.
