</b></h3><div><div><p>The NYU Abu Humanities Research Fellowship for the Study of the Arab World (HRF) invites early-career scholars who wish to contribute to the vibrant research culture of NYUAD&rsquo;s Saadiyat campus to apply for a residential postdoctoral fellowship, starting September 2026.</p>
<p>
We welcome applications from recent PhD graduates (PhD in hand between September 2021 and September 2026) working in all areas of the Humanities related to the study of the Arab world, its rich literature and history, its cultural and artistic heritage, and its manifold connections with other cultures and regions. We particularly welcome interdisciplinary research applications for projects thematically connected to existing research projects and initiatives at NYUAD's divisions of Arts &amp; Humanities and Social Sciences (see https://nyuad.nyu.edu/en/research.html).</p>
<p>
The program awards up to two postdoctoral fellowships (ten months). Each postdoctoral fellow receives a stipend and free housing, as well as health insurance, work space on campus, full access to NYUAD&rsquo;s library facilities (with close connections to NYU&rsquo;s main library in New York), a research allowance, an opportunity to host a small workshop, and support for travel to and from Abu Dhabi. Fellows are required to present their current research via a research talk or workshop, to attend their colleagues&rsquo; presentations, and to participate regularly in HRF seminars and related scholarly events.</p>
<p>
We expect successful candidates to commence their appointment on September 1, 2026, pending final approval, and budget availability, and to remain in residence at NYUAD until the end of the academic year.</p>

 The post-doctoral associate will spend half their time on independent research, and half their time on collaborative research with Professors Mario D. Molina, Minsu Park, and Blaine Robbins. The collaborative research will be large-scale analyses of digital traces (e.g., Yelp, Airbnb, Stack Exchange) and virtual lab experiments to study how ingroup favoritism and group boundaries coevolve in multiplex communities; how attribute- and opinion-based cues shape insider/outsider categorization, intergroup relations, and social cohesion; and how to design interventions that promote inclusivity, fairness, and productive discourse online.

 We seek a candidate with expertise in the following four areas: (1) working with large-scale digital trace data; (2) building and running natural language processing and machine learning workflows; (3) experimental design and causal inference (including virtual lab experiments); and/or (4) network or computational modeling.  The Water Research Center at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a postdoctoral associate to work on membrane surface patterning for water treatment applications, under the supervision of Dr Daniel Johnson, Assistant Professor of Engineering and Co-PI of the Water Research Center.
 <br/>

 The successful applicant will lead an innovative project focused on the development of hybrid processes for the recovery of minerals from desalination reject brine. The role will involve development of a range of mineral extraction processes and the lab and pilot scale. This will include development and testing of innovative membrane materials for water recovery, adsorption processes, ion exchange and solvent extraction. Ultimately, the candidate will develop and test hybrid systems using combinations of these technologies, to find low cost and environmentally sustainable to reduce environmental impacts of desalination waste streams whilst recovering minerals of economic importance.

 The successful applicant will oversee projects, develop extensive technical expertise, and implement innovative solutions. He/she will contribute to the development of novel concepts and proposal writing, while efficiently addressing complex challenges. Responsibilities will include writing reports, authoring publications, drafting patents, and presenting results at conferences. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated knowledge and experience of membrane fabrication and characterization, and desalination and other water treatment processes, including working at both the bench and pilot scale . Experience in assessment of environmental impacts of processes, such as life cycle analysis, is desirable. Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and exceptional verbal and written communication abilities are essential. The candidate should be capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.

 Applicants must have a PhD in chemical or process engineering, environmental engineering, materials science &amp; engineering or related field. Excellent experimental and analytical skills relevant to the project (in particular membrane fabrication, materials characterization, aqueous chemistry and desalination processes) are required. Candidates with a demonstrated history of peer-reviewed publications in a related area, along with prior expertise in materials science and environmental chemistry will be preferred.

</b></h3><div><div><p>We are inviting applications for a Post-Doctoral Associate in the Division of Social Science at NYU Abu Dhabi from individuals who have or will soon receive a PhD in demography, epidemiology, public health, or a related discipline in the social sciences. The appointment will begin September 1, 2026, subject to final budget approval and is available for up to three years.</p>
<p>
The post-doctoral associate will spend half their time on independent research, and half their time on collaborative research with Professor St&eacute;phane Helleringer. The collaborative research will be on population health and its determinants in low-and-middle-income countries, with an emphasis on measurement issues and the impact of crises such as epidemics and disasters.</p>
<p>
The job entails conducting high-quality research on population health and its determinants in low-and-middle-income countries. This includes conceptualizing research questions, designing empirical studies, collecting or acquiring new data sets, and analyzing these data using advanced statistical models and visualization techniques. The job also emphasizes the dissemination of knowledge about population health, particularly through the preparation of peer-reviewed manuscripts, software packages and/or participation in international conferences.</p>
<p>
Candidates must hold a PhD in demography, epidemiology, public health or related discipline in the social sciences. The ideal candidate is preferred to have prior experience with data collection and collaboration in low-and-middle-income countries and good knowledge of R or other software for data management, analysis and visualization.</p>
<p>
The position does not require teaching, but it may be possible to get teaching experience for compensation. You would join a group of over 20 post-doctoral fellows and 70 faculty in the Division of Social Science.</p>
