<p>We are hiring for the following positions!<br/>Interested candidates may send their CVs, mentioning the position applied for in the subject line, to: recruit@velqatar.com</p><p><b>Job Title: System Control Engineer (Network Planning Expert)</b></p><p><b>Requirement &ndash; 1 No</b></p><p><b>Qualifications &amp; Requirements:</b></p><ul><li><b>Education:</b> Minimum qualifications BSc.in Electrical Engineering, Master&rsquo;s degree &amp; Preferred qualification - PhD in Engineering.</li><li><b>Experience:</b> 20+ years of experience in Transmission Network Planning in utilities and consultancy. 2+ years in system studies related to Transmission Network. Leadership Experience: 5+ years.</li></ul><p><b>Major Responsibilities:</b></p><p>&middot; Provide expert consultation on the strategic planning and development of Kahramaa&rsquo;s Extra high and high‐voltage transmission network (400 kV, 220 kV, 132 kV, 66 kV) to support future demand growth and system reliability.</p><p>&middot; Ensure compliance with Kahramaa&rsquo;sgrid codes, international standards (IEEE, IEC), and best practices.</p><p>&middot; Identify the potential improve point in grid code, procedures, and guidelines.</p><p>&middot; Identify transmission system bottlenecks and recommend reinforcement or new infrastructure projects.</p><p>&middot; Perform techno‐economic evaluations to determine the most cost‐effective and reliable transmission solutions.</p><p>&middot; Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and feasibility studies for management and stakeholders.</p><p>&middot; Provide guidance on project prioritization and investment decisions by developing comprehensive feasibility studies and investment plans that ensure alignment with technical, economic, and strategic objectives.</p><p>&middot; Monitor emerging technologies, industry trends, and policy changes to be incorporated into transmission planning.</p><p>&middot; Develop and update long‐term transmission network expansion plans aligned with the future requirements.</p><p>&middot; Interconnection plan for new generation facility (conventional and renewable (IBR))</p><p>&middot; Conduct brief steady‐state and short circuit analysis.</p><p>&middot; Performs other job‐related duties as assigned.</p><p>Train junior engineers.</p><p>Work Location: In person</p>
