Senior HR Executive
We are seeking a seasoned and detail-oriented Senior HR Executive to manage and execute all aspects of Human Resources for our fast-paced Electrical and Civil Infrastructure projects. This role requires an experienced professional with a strong background in recruitment, payroll, and general HR administration within the construction or infrastructure sector, capable of handling the unique demands of project-based and field-heavy workforces.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition (Infrastructure Focus)
- End-to-End Recruitment: Manage the complete lifecycle of recruitment for all levels, from entry-level field workers to specialized technical staff (e.g., Civil Engineers, Electrical Foremen, Project Managers).
- Sourcing Strategy: Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to attract talent specific to the infrastructure, electrical, and civil construction industries, including engaging with technical institutes and trade schools.
- Onboarding & Induction: Conduct thorough and structured onboarding programs, ensuring new hires, particularly site staff, are fully aware of company policies, site safety regulations, and compliance requirements from day one.
- Manpower Planning: Collaborate with Project Managers and senior leadership to forecast staffing needs for new projects and maintain a skilled talent pipeline.
2. Payroll Management & Compensation
- Payroll Processing: Manage the accurate and timely processing of monthly/bi-weekly payroll for all employees (site and corporate), including salary, wages, overtime, allowances, bonuses, and statutory deductions (e.g., PF, ESI, TDS/Income Tax).
- Attendance & Leave Integration: Ensure accurate integration of time-and-attendance data (from site-specific biometric systems, muster rolls, etc.) into the payroll system. Administer and track all employee leave and attendance records.
- Statutory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all relevant labor laws, wage acts, and statutory compliance requirements unique to the infrastructure and construction industry.
- Compensation & Benefits Administration: Assist in salary benchmarking and the administration of employee benefits (insurance, gratuity, etc.), handling all related documentation and employee queries.
3. HR Administration & Operations
- Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous employee records, personnel files, contracts, and HR documentation in the HRIS/ERP system, ensuring confidentiality and audit readiness.
- Policy Implementation: Interpret, communicate, and enforce company HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook consistently across all sites and offices.
- Performance Management Support: Coordinate the annual and half-yearly performance appraisal cycles, ensuring managers and employees adhere to timelines and processes.
- Employee Relations: Serve as a first point of contact for employee grievances and queries, facilitating healthy employee relations and addressing conflicts in a fair and timely manner.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, MBA HR certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years of progressive HR experience, with a mandatory focus on the Infrastructure, Construction, or Engineering sectors (Electrical/Civil preferred).
- Domain Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience managing both Recruitment and Payroll functions independently.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in using HRIS/HRMS software, Payroll processing systems, and MS Excel (advanced skills for data analysis and reporting).
- Compliance Knowledge: Deep understanding of local/national labor laws, statutory compliance, and industry-specific regulations (e.g., related to contract labor, site safety).
- Soft Skills: Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills, with a professional and discreet approach to handling sensitive information.
