Septic Truck Driver/Operator

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced CDL - Septic Truck Driver/Operator to join our team. This role involves operating septic trucks and related equipment to perform waste removal services efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, a clean driving record, and familiarity with various truck types, including tractor-trailers and dump trucks. This position offers an opportunity to work in a vital service industry with a focus on safety, professionalism, and customer satisfaction. Must be willing and able to pass a Septic Operator’s test with the DNR in a timely manner. This is a seasonal position (March-November). 20-30 hours per week with the potential for more hours during peak season.

Duties

  • Operate septic trucks and associated equipment to perform waste removal services at various locations.
  • Drive a variety of trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tanker trucks, roll-off trucks, and dump trucks as needed.
  • Load and unload materials safely using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during operations.
  • Conduct routine inspections of vehicles before and after trips to ensure proper functioning and safety standards are met.
  • Maintain accurate logs of routes, loads, and service records.
  • Follow designated routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols.
  • Assist with route planning to optimize schedules and service efficiency.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on trucks and report any mechanical issues promptly.

Skills

  • Valid CDL license with appropriate endorsements for tanker, flatbed, or other specialized truck types.
  • Experience driving manual transmission vehicles IS required.
  • Proven experience operating various commercial trucks such as tractor-trailers, dump trucks, etc.
  • Strong driving skills with a clean driving record; experience in route driving is highly desirable.
  • Ability to load & unload cargo safely using skid loader or other equipment when necessary.
  • Knowledge of freight handling procedures and delivery driver experience is a plus.
  • Excellent navigation skills for route planning and execution.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery safely in compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Good communication skills for coordinating with dispatch and customers. This position requires a dedicated professional committed to safety, efficiency, and excellent service within the waste management industry.

Wage/Compensation

Negotiable based on experience.

Job Type: Part-time

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
