Job Summary
The Solar & Electrical Materials Purchaser Officer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing solar and electrical materials required for projects and operations. The role ensures timely availability of quality materials at competitive prices while maintaining strong supplier relationships and accurate inventory records.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure solar panels, inverters, mounting structures, cables, DC/AC accessories, protection devices, and electrical materials
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to obtain best pricing, quality, and delivery terms
- Prepare and process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and supplier invoices
- Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, and stores to understand material requirements
- Ensure materials meet technical specifications, quality standards, and project needs
- Monitor delivery schedules and follow up with suppliers to avoid delays
- Maintain updated supplier records, price comparisons, and procurement reports
- Coordinate with stores for inventory control and stock management
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures
- Handle warranty claims, returns, and material discrepancies
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Proven experience in solar and electrical material procurement
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of solar PV components and electrical accessories
- Good negotiation and vendor management skills
- Ability to read and understand technical material specifications
- Proficiency in MS Excel and procurement/accounting software
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Experience
- 2–5+ years of relevant experience in solar, electrical, or renewable energy procurement (preferred)
