Technical Sales Engineer

OGI is seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Technical Sales Engineer with a strong mechanical engineering background to support business growth in oil and Gas Drilling industry and related industrial products. The role involves combining technical expertise with commercial acumen to support clients, develop solutions, and drive sales across key markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage relationships with clients in the oil & gas drilling and service providers and other related industrial sectors
  • Understand customer technical requirements and propose suitable engineering solutions
  • Prepare and deliver technical-commercial proposals, quotations, and bid responses
  • Coordinate with OEMs, production, and supply chain teams to ensure accurate order execution
  • Provide technical support during pre-sales and post-sales stages
  • Conduct product presentations, client meetings, and technical discussions
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and identify new business opportunities
  • Achieve assigned sales targets and contribute to overall revenue growth
  • Support contract negotiations and ensure compliance with technical specifications and delivery terms

Required Qualifications

  • B.Tech/B.E/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory)
  • 2–6 years of experience in technical sales, preferably in oil & gas, drilling tools, tubulars, downhole tools, handling tools, fishing tools or industrial equipment
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, properties and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

  • Proficiency in MS Office, ERP & AutoCAD

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience in drill pipes, OCTG, Downhole tools, Fishing tools, handling tools, pressure control tools or oilfield services is highly preferred
  • Exposure to international clients and export markets
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously
