Tele-Control / SCS Technician

Job Summary

The SCS Technician will be responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Telecontrol and Substation Control System (SCS) equipment across Primary Substations in Qatar.

The role includes preventive maintenance, fault rectification, emergency response, and compliance with safety and ISO standards.

Qualifications

• Technical Diploma in:
• Electrical Engineering
• Electronics
• Instrumentation
• Computer Engineering
• Minimum 6+ years experience in similar role
• At least 3+ years supervisory experience in Telecontrol / Substation systems

Key ResponsibilitiesRoutine Maintenance & Fault Handling

• Routine maintenance of:
• NCC / DGCC / DCC RTUs
• Telecontrol Battery Chargers
• DCS Systems
• WAMS Systems
• Attend telecontrol faults during office & after office hours.
• Conduct testing of newly ordered telecontrol and contractual spares.
• Perform preventive maintenance as per schedule.

Safety & Compliance

• Receive safety documents before starting work.
• Clear safety documentation after job completion.
• Ensure compliance with:
• ISO 9001
• ISO 27001
• Kahramaa Health & Safety regulations

Technical Supervision

• Supervise fault identification in equipment & instruments.
• Recommend materials, tools & corrective actions.
• Inspect equipment after repair to ensure proper functionality.
• Maintain accurate maintenance & fault history records.
• Assist in condition monitoring reports.

Administrative Support

• Timekeeping & scheduling.
• Material tracking & cost monitoring.
• Submit reports for irreparable damages.
• Assist supervisor in data preparation & reporting.

Emergency Support

• Participate in emergency response activities.
• Ensure timely completion of all assigned work.

Required Skills

• Strong troubleshooting in:
• RTU / DCS / SCS systems
• Telecontrol Battery Chargers
• Substation automation systems
• Ability to read:
• Electrical drawings
• SCS architecture
• Wiring diagrams
• Good English communication (Arabic preferred)

Work Schedule

• 8 hours per day
• 5 days per week
• Standby & emergency call-out support required

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: From QAR8,000.00 per month
