Truck Dispatcher

Job Summary

The Truck Dispatcher will manage the day-to-day coordination of truck drivers, routes, and shipments to optimize efficiency and meet client deadlines. This role requires strong organizational skills, quick decision-making, and a solid understanding of transportation logistics. The successful candidate will play a key part in maintaining smooth operations and minimizing downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule and assign truck drivers to routes based on load requirements, delivery timelines, and driver availability.
• Monitor real-time truck locations using GPS and tracking software to ensure on-time performance and handle any deviations.
• Communicate with drivers, clients, and warehouse teams to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and any changes in schedules.
• Optimize routes for fuel efficiency, traffic avoidance, and compliance with road regulations.
• Handle emergencies such as breakdowns, delays, or route changes by providing alternative solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including logs, fuel usage, and maintenance schedules.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, legal requirements (e.g., DOT regulations, FMCSA guidelines), and company policies.
• Collaborate with the sales and operations teams to align dispatch with business needs.
• Generate reports on dispatch performance, including metrics like on-time delivery rates and fleet utilization.
• Assist in training new drivers on dispatch procedures and software tools.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• At least 1 year of experience in truck dispatching, fleet management, or logistics coordination.
• Familiarity with U.S. transportation regulations, including hours of service, vehicle inspections, and cargo handling.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. geography, traffic patterns, and major routes.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with drivers and clients.
• Proficiency in dispatch software (e.g., TMS systems), MS Office, and GPS tracking tools.
• Ability to work in shifts, including evenings or weekends, as needed for 24/7 operations.
• High attention to detail and ability to multitask under pressure.
• Fluency in English.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs70,000.00 - Rs80,000.00 per month
