Veterinary Receptionist

Affordable Animal Hospital in Orangeis hiring full-time and part-time experience Veterinary Receptionists with 2 years of experience. The primary responsibility of a Veterinary Receptionist is to provide exemplary customer service to every client that brings their pets to Affordable Animal Hospital.

We are looking for Veterinary Receptionists that have exceptional customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills to succeed in our hospital. Communication skills are especially important, as Veterinary Receptionists spend much of their time talking with clients, fellow staff members and Veterinarians.

The most important responsibilities for this role are taking phone calls, handling correspondence, accepting payment, scheduling appointments for examinations and anesthetic procedures, managing hospital flow and providing excellent customer service while multi-tasking.

Veterinary Receptionist Job Duties:

  • Welcome clients with their pets to the clinic in a friendly and courteous manner
  • Answer incoming calls professionally and route calls to other staff members in line with the hospital’s protocols
  • Maintained patient records by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information
  • Assisted in treatment of patients and availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records
  • Handled incoming, outgoing mail and electronic and written correspondence
  • Handled method of payment for hospital patients
  • Maintained cleanliness of reception and exam
  • Refill prescriptions for clients
  • Process end of day reports and make deposits
  • Checked in all clients, including weighing animals and putting them in the proper room.
  • Communicate with veterinary professionals to provide information or education, handle complaints or issues completely and accurately
  • Build and present estimates to clients

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time efficiently
  • Provide outstanding customer service
  • Knowledge of Avimark practice-management software
  • Ability to prioritize and manage numerous clients at one time
  • Ability to exercise patience with clients
  • One (2) years previous experience in animal care or in a clinic preferred but not required

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
